Th.M., Candler School of Theology

Tyler Mowry has worked in higher education for seven years, primarily as a classroom instructor in Baylor’s Department of Religion. During this time, he developed an interest in the theories and practice of learning design as a participant in—and then co-facilitator of—Baylor’s Designing for Online Teaching Success (DOTS) certification course. He served in this capacity for two years, helping fellow graduate students learn the foundational principles of online pedagogy. This interest in online learning design stems from an ongoing passion for the use of technology in higher education. In collaboration with Baylor’s Digital Humanities team and various independent software engineers, Tyler has developed a suite of open-source interactive teaching tools for the religious studies classroom. He is excited to continue pursuing these passions as part of the Learning Design team. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, trail-running, and spending time with his family.
