About Moody & Jones Libraries
Moody Memorial Library and Jesse H. Jones Library are the main research complexes of the university and serve together as the academic life center of Baylor's Waco campus. Moody Memorial Library opened its doors on September 17, 1968, after making the move from Carroll Library, which was built in 1906. The Jesse H. Jones Library was later added in 1992.

Garden Level
- The Gregory and Harvey Gardens: Beautiful outdoor spaces for individual or group study, reflection, or relaxation.
- The Garden Level Study Commons: A flexible, technology-rich learning environment.
- The Experiential Learning Commons: Provides experiential learning and common spaces that include DIY video and audio recording studios, a makerspace that emphasizes digital fabrication, space to explore emerging technology like VR/AR, a 24-hour flexible, technology-rich study commons, and a walk-up service point.
- HelpDesk+: Along with the resources of the Experiential Learning Commons you will find technical support representatives that can assist you with hardware or software issues.
Main Floor

- Moody 104: Active Learning Lab: A highly-flexible state-of-the-art classroom.
- Information Desks: Find helpful people in the foyer or just inside the glass doors to answer your questions or assist you with materials

Second Floor
- Prichard Quiet Study Area: A large, comfortable, enclosed room reserved for quiet study.
- The University Writing Center: "Making Better Writers" is the goal of the in-person and online consultations that take place in this space.
- The Rowe Reading Lounge: A new, comfortable study area with lighted tables and flexible furnishings.
- The Graduate Research Center: A study environment exclusively for graduate students and faculty. Access by card swipe on the corridor.

- Arts & Special Collections Research Center: An extensive music and visual arts collection, recognized as one of the most distinguished music libraries in the Southwest.
Jesse H. Jones Library
As you explore Jones Library, you will find great flexible study and learning environments, helpful expert assistance, our circulating print collection, our non-circulating reference collection, and more! Jones Library spans two floors.
First Floor
- Crosshatch Gallery: Featuring a rotating selection of art from Baylor Art and Art History faculty, as well as invited artists.
- Self Check-Out Station: Bypass the line, check out your materials on your own!
- Data Visualization Screen: An 84" screen that demonstrates the power of data visualization.
Second Floor
- Creekmore Conference Room: A conveniently located conference room for group meetings.
- Dennis Campbell Innovative Learning Space (Jones 200): An open-air technology-rich flexible learning environment.
Home of University Libraries Central Services
Moody and Jones Libraries also house the divisions of Library Collections Services, Research & Engagement, and Library and Academic Technology Services.
- Library Collections Services supports the University Libraries with collection development, acquisitions, cataloging, and interlibrary loan services. The librarians and staff in LCS engage collaboratively with campus in the selection of new resources, efficiently deliver and manage resources, and describe and arrange library materials to facilitate discovery and strike inspiration.
- Research & Engagement includes public services, the liaison librarian program, instruction and information literacy, data and digital scholarship, and the special collections of Moody Library. R&E provides research assistance, instruction, and circulation of materials to the university community. The team of liaison librarians engages with faculty and students in departments across campus to provide specialized subject assistance to meet their information and research needs and to teach students to become effective researchers. The data and digital scholarship program includes training on research data management, data visualization, text data mining and geospatial analysis.
- Library and Academic Technology Services reflects a merger of academic technology and library technology, consisting of Digital Library Services and Systems, Experiential Learning Commons, Learning Design, Learning Spaces, Learning Systems, and Digitization and Digital Preservation.
- The Moody Library Special Collections holds unique materials such as the Heritage Edition of the Saint John’s Bible, the Books Arts Collection, a first edition of Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations, and much more!
