Jenny Bolech, who has served with the Baylor Libraries since 2009, has accepted a newly created position as Electronic Resources and Serials Librarian. She will transition to this new role on December 1, 2022.

Bolech initially served with the Libraries as an undergraduate student assistant in the Crouch Fine Arts Library in 2004. Following her Baylor graduation in 2007, she relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth area where she worked as an office manager for a small property preservation company. In 2009, she returned to Waco, Baylor, and the Libraries as a library information specialist working in the continuations group. Initially her role entailed managing print journal subscriptions, but has become increasingly digital with the shift to e-resources. In 2022, Bolech completed a Masters of Science in Library Science from the University of North Texas.

This new administrative professional role within the Libraries was necessitated by the ongoing shift to digital resources. “With the continued growth in and demand for e-resources, we needed a professional librarian to manage the complexities of online journal and database acquisitions, contracts, and renewals,” said Jeffry Archer, dean of university libraries. “This new role allows for strategic management the e-resources that are delivered to students and faculty for immediate access to research materials.“

Bolech looks forward to leading the continuations group in her new role as e-resources become an increasing part of the collections of the Baylor Libraries. She is also excited about continuing to ensure that the Libraries’ print and electronic serials align with patron needs.

“We are exceedingly excited to have Jenny filling this much-anticipated position,” said J. Michael Thompson, director of collection development and delivery services. “We look forward to her incorporating the fresh ideas and enthusiasm of a newly-minted librarian with the extensive e-resources and serials experience that she brings to the position.”
