The Armstrong Browning Library & Museum of the Baylor Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanna Lamb as Assistant Librarian and Curator.

Lamb is a Waco native who graduated from Waco High School and earned a B.A. in Public Affairs and Corporate Communications and a B.A. in English with a minor in Art History from Southern Methodist University. During her undergraduate years, she completed one science course at Baylor University to complete her degree. She went on to earn her Master of Library and Information Science with concentrations in Archives and Records Management and School Library Media at the University of Denver.

Prior to the Baylor Libraries, she held many different positions in archives, libraries, museums, and records management. She most recently served as an Information Governance Analyst with SM Energy in Denver, Colorado, an adjunct professor of records management and University Records Manager at the University of Denver, and as a board member for The Dance Archive. Lamb has also worked as Archival Collections Assistant for the Special Collections and Archives at the University of California, Irvine, and a librarian for K-12 students in Calabasas, California.

“With her extensive experience in archives and records management, her work in relationship and community building, and her passion for literature and art, Joanna will strengthen and enhance the Armstrong Browning Library & Museum’s instruction, outreach, and research services. We are excited to have her join our team,” said Jennifer Borderud, Assistant Dean for Special Libraries and Director of the Armstrong Browning Library & Museum.

Lamb is excited to serve with the Armstrong Browning Library & Museum, putting her skills to work in a new environment.

“This is my dream job,” said Lamb. “When I was an undergraduate student at SMU studying and doing internships with Sotheby’s and the Millicent Rogers Museum and Museum Association of Taos, a role like this is exactly what I had in mind. My journey through librarianship and records management has prepared me well for this next stage in my professional journey”

Lamb began her new role with the Libraries on March 1, 2024.
