Readers Meet the Author Series Ad for Coffman Session

Provost Nancy Brickhouse and President Linda Livingstone will kick off this year’s Readers Meet the Author series on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Noon, as Dr. Elesha Coffman converses with Dr. Elizabeth Flowers about "Turning Points in American Church History: How Pivotal Events Shaped a Nation and a Faith" in the Schumacher Flex Commons on the first floor of Moody Memorial Library. Coffman’s latest publication examines the influence of Christianity on United States history through the lens of thirteen key events that span four hundred years.

Each year, Provost Brickhouse selects recently published single-authored works by Baylor faculty and features them in a series of collegial conversations that encourage shared reflection and dialogue in the Baylor community and beyond. Coffman’s book was released on the day she served as a respondent during last year’s Readers Meet the Author Series, and the publication was selected for inclusion in this year’s series.

This event is free and open to the public. A reception with light refreshments and book signing will follow the conversation. Copies of “Turning Points in American Church History” will be available for purchase from the Baylor Bookstore at the event.

The Readers Meet the Author Series is presented by the Office of the Provost and the Office of the President and hosted by the Baylor Libraries.
