Carolyn Scott joined the Libraries in October 2025 as an LMS Content Specialist. Her career has been dedicated to promoting accessible learning experiences. She is a Baylor alumna, having majored in Deaf Education and minored in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting. She served as the Lead Sign Language Interpreter and Web Content Owner in Student Disability Services at Texas Tech University for 10 years before moving to the mountains and teaching at Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB). At CSDB, she built Canvas courses, created accessible digital materials, and edited videos of ASL translations. Later, as a Digital Curriculum Developer for Arts & Letters with Great Minds, she authored and reviewed alt text, closed captions, audio descriptions, and PowerPoint slides with a focus on assessment. Scott also built multiple blended and asynchronous courses for the ASL at Home curriculum, which equips families with deaf children to learn to communicate in American Sign Language. She is a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) and excited to create accessible and inclusive learning materials in Canvas as part of Baylor’s Learning Design team. Her hobbies include hiking, reading, playing board games, and watercolor painting. She also volunteers as an interpreter for her Episcopal church and is a part of a Celtic Spirituality book group. As a "Hobbit at heart," Carolyn enjoys cooking international meals, snuggling up with a cozy cup of tea and book, and going on the occasional adventure. (Second breakfast is her favorite).
