Experience
I have been employed at Baylor University for almost 30 years. I serve as an Information Specialist in the Department of Research & Engagement. It is my pleasure to provide the Baylor family as well as visiting schools throughout Waco and surrounding communities' research assistance. My duties expanded during COVID-19 as we maintained a high level of customer service including retrieving quarantine items, searching stacks and pulling books, and curbside delivery to faculty and grad students.
I would like to mention a few of the many highlights I've experienced during my tenure at Baylor. I had the opportunity to present a poster session with two librarians at the American Library Association.
I also engaged faculty and staff from various campus libraries to join in as we hosted "Job Shadow Day" with a local high school over a period of several years. Many of the students had never been on the Baylor Campus at that time.
For several years, I, along with colleagues put together displays honoring Notable African Americans who made great contributions to our history in observation of Black History Month.
Memberships, Committees, Publications
I am currently a member of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association and serve on the Diversity, Equit, and Inclusion Committee.
