Baylor Canvas Fix-a-thon 2024 (May 16)
In concert with Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), Baylor LATS is hosting its Second Annual Canvas Content Fix-a-thon to highlight the need for more inclusive digital content. The objective: improve the accessibility of as much digital course content as possible with at Baylor’s UDOIT accessibility checker.

Creating an accessible experience in Canvas is key to a more inclusive learning environment by eliminating barriers that restrict a person's access to the information.
Participants will earn a badge recognizing their commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for those who rely on accessibility tools to engage with course content.

The Accessibility Journey: Run Your Race
Speakers: Lindsey Morris, Baylor University & Lindsay Nichols Foster, Tarrant Community College
Lindsey Morris has been in education for a decade. Most recently she has served as an instructional designer working with faculty members on online course design and digital accessibility. Additionally, she has worked as an Instructional designer at a not-for-profit focusing on adult education in career development. Her experience also includes STEM education outreach and K-12 education. Lindsey has an M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Texas A&M University and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas. She uses her varied and diverse experiences to create accessible online content for all learners.
Lindsay Foster has over two decades of educational experience as an elementary classroom educator, a technology applications instructor, an instructional technology coach and coordinator, and instructional designer. As an instructional designer, Mrs. Foster specializes in issues related to Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) and Accessibility. She was a TCEA Technology Administrator of the Year finalist in 2021, Connect Campus Instructional Support Member of the Year (2023). Mrs. Foster is currently on the board of TxDLA representing Members-At-Large and she also served on the 2021 TEA State Board of Education Technology Applications TEKS Review Committee. Mrs. Foster’s speaking engagements have included Accessing Higher Ground, ATIA, ISTE, TCEA, TxDLA, MACUL, NCTIES, OLC, TCEA ETC, TCCA, TiA, and TXGoo.
