2017 Keston Public Lecture: Dominic Erdozain

On October 25, 2017, Dr. Dominic Erdozain presented the Fall 2017 Keston Lecture titled, “Holy Fools: Faith and Freedom in Soviet Russia,” as part of the “Revisiting Red October: Commemorating the Centennial of the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia” series. A panel followed the lecture and included Dr. Wallace Daniel, Dr. Julie deGraffenried, and Dr. Philip Jenkins.

Erdozain, a research fellow at King's College London in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies and a visiting scholar at the Candler School of Theology Emory University, earned his BA at Oxford and his MPhil and PhD degrees at Cambridge. He is the author of The Soul of Doubt: The Religious Roots of Unbelief from Luther to Marx (Oxford University Press, 2015) and The Problem of Pleasure: Sport, Recreation and the Crisis of Victorian Religion  (Boydell & Brewer, 2010). In addition to numerous journal articles, he edited The Dangerous God: Christianity and the Soviet Experiment (Northern Illinois University Press, 2017) which includes essays by both Daniel and deGraffenried.
