2015 Keston Public Lecture: Defenders of the Faith
On Thursday, February 26, at 3:30 pm, the Keston Center for Religion, Politics, and Society hosted a lecture and panel discussion, "Defenders of the Faith: Then and Now." The event featured Keston Institute Council of Management Chair Xenia Dennen, Dr. Wallace Daniel from Mercer University, Dr. James Warhola from the University of Maine, and Baylor's own Dr. Stephen Gardner and Dr. Julie deGraffenried who moderated the panel.
Keston Lecturer Xenia Dennen is a graduate of St. Anne’s College, Oxford and the London School of Economics and Politics. Dennen helped found the Keston Institute and its journal. She has chaired the Keston Institute Council since 2002, and is currently involved in producing the multi-volume Encyclopaedia of Religious Life in Russia Today.
The panelists examined "The Post-Soviet Challenge Today" and spoke to the current situation in Russia, Ukraine and surrounding territories. While Daniel and Gardner are familiar to Baylor audiences, James Warhola of the University of Maine is an expert on US-Russian relations and within the last year testified before the Congressional Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The session was held in the Michael Bourdeaux Research Center on the 3rd floor of Carroll Library.
