British Poet Fiona Sampson Presents Virtual Poetry Reading and Lecture

Esteemed poet Fiona Sampson will be the guest speaker for a virtual poetry reading and lecture at Baylor University. All are invited to attend these virtual presentations, which will be hosted on Zoom. Baylor students may receive CAE credit for these events.

Baylor University's Armstrong Browning Library and Museum, in partnership with the Beall Poetry Festival, will host Sampson for a virtual poetry reading at 3 p.m. CDT on Sept. 15, 2021 and lecture at 3 p.m. CDT on Sept. 16, 2021. The presentations will feature a live reading of Sampson's poetry and a discussion of her newest publication, "Two-Way Mirror: The Life of Elizabeth Barrett Browning." Sampson's latest book is the first biography written on Barrett Browning in more than 30 years.

An internationally acclaimed poet and writer, Sampson is the author of twenty-eight books of poetry and nonfiction, including the critically acclaimed "In Search of Mary Shelley." Published in thirty-seven languages, she’s the recipient of numerous national and international honors, including an MBE for services to literature. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, Wordsworth Trust, and English Association, she is professor emerita of the University of Roehampton and lives on the Welsh borders.
