David has worked with learning technologies for more than two decades, starting his career as a Technology Specialist for Waco ISD, where he assisted teachers in integrating instructional technology into their classrooms. In 1998, he joined Baylor, providing support for instructional computer labs, and by 2001, he had transitioned into a managerial role overseeing the support of these facilities. During this time, he earned a Master’s in Education, conducting research on the factors influencing technology integration in K-12 classrooms and building a phonics tutoring application in the now-obsolete Authorware platform. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Authorware
Throughout his time at Baylor, David has led impactful projects aimed at enhancing teaching and learning. He has been instrumental in designing technology-rich learning spaces such as the Teamspot group study space (2006), the Garden Level Study Commons (2009), the Moody 104 Active Learning Lab (2018), and Baylor’s first DIY media studios for students (2015). He also championed digital storytelling in the classroom, hosting workshops and facilitating digital storytelling assignments for students.
Since October 2019, David has been serving in his current leadership role, where he continues to collaborate with colleagues to support and advance technology-enhanced learning initiatives across the university.
