Experience
Kayla began serving with the Baylor Libraries in August 2019, first as a Graduate Student Assistant for Research & Engagement. As of February 2023, Kayla now serves as a Library Information Coordinator for Moody and Jones Libraries. Kayla will staff the Moody Circulation Desk and provides research and reference assistance to patrons on the weekends.
Kayla attended Howard Payne University where she received a Bachelor of Music in Church Music and Worship in May 2019. She also attended Baylor and received a Master of Divinity (MDiv) at George W. Truett Theological Seminary with an emphasis on Ecology, Theology, and Food Justice in December 2022, where she also met her husband, Zachary Fojtasek. Both Kayla and her husband also serve on the supply preaching team for both the Truett church network and the Unity of the Brethren. Prior to her role as a Library Information Coordinator, Fojtasek also served as the Breakfast Cook and Morning Volunteer Coordinator for Mission Waco’s Meyer Center for Urban Ministries.
