Experience
Peyton Merchant joined the Baylor Libraries as a Continuing Resources Specialist on June 27, 2022.
Peyton is a recent graduate from Baylor University. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English in May 2022, becoming the first person in her family to get a degree. Peyton believes that the guidance of many amazing people both in and out of her home as well as her experience working to provide for herself while attending college full-time has shaped who she is today.
Peyton started her first library job at the Baylor Law Library her freshman year, where she worked as a librarian’s assistant. From there, she accepted a position with the Waco McLennan County Public Libraries to experience the contrast between academic and public libraries. Eventually, Peyton would like to pursue a Master’s degree, but is currently giving herself much-needed time to enjoy life as well as the new job here at Baylor Libraries!
When she is not working, Peyton enjoys diving into a good book, snuggling with her two kitties, and taking lots of naps.
