Yue Ma is an Assistant Director of Learning Experience Design at Baylor University, bringing over a decade of instructional design experience to her work with faculty and administrators. She is passionate about creating engaging, student-centered online learning grounded in pedagogy and practical technology integration. Her design philosophy blends creative thinking with a realistic approach to ensure meaningful learning experiences that are scalable and sustainable.

In her role at Baylor, Yue leads and supports a learning experience design team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Prior to joining Baylor, Yue spent over 10 years at Saint Xavier University (Chicago, IL), where she began her career as an instructional designer and later advanced into a leadership role. Over the years, she has developed expertise in online course development, project management, faculty development, and team leadership. Yue completed her Ed.D. in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University, with a dissertation focused on the evolving competencies of instructional designers in higher education.

Yue is a firm believer in “learning by doing” and values collaborative work environments where ideas can be tested and refined in practice. She is deeply committed to empowering faculty and bridging the gap between pedagogy and technology through thoughtful strategy and Innovation.

Outside of her professional and academic work, Yue enjoys life with her husband and two young children in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. If you meet with her on Zoom or Teams, there’s a good chance her 13-pound ragdoll cat will make a surprise appearance on camera!
