Baylor Libraries Author Series to Feature New Release by Dr. Jon Singletary

Dr. Jon Singletary will converse about his recently released “Leadership by the Number: Using the Enneagram to Strengthen Educational Leadership” (Jossey-Bass, 2023) and hold a book signing at Moody Memorial Library Sept. 21, 2023, at 6 p.m. Meghan Becker, director of Student Care and Well-Being at Baylor University will interview Dr. Singletary.

“The Baylor Libraries are honored to welcome Dr. Singletary as our second presenter in the Libraries’ Author Series. His expertise on the Enneagram is noted and anyone involved in higher education can benefit from his unique insight on educational leadership,” Jeffry Archer, Dean of University Libraries, Museums, and the Press said.

Singletary serves as dean and professor in the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University. He graduated from Baylor in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication, completed a Master of Divinity at Baptist Theological Seminary, and earned a doctorate in Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University. Singletary returned to Baylor in Fall 2003 as a professor of Social Work and was appointed dean in 2015. He conducts research on community, family and congregational life. Singletary is an Enneagram of Personality authority who trained under Suzanne Stabile.

“Throughout my time as both an administrator and professor, the most significant resource for fostering self-awareness I have encountered is the Enneagram,” Singletary said. “I invite readers to learn more about the benefits of self-aware leadership and transform how they lead through the power of the enneagram.”

“My hope is that through sharing a few of my own experiences and insights into the importance of the Enneagram readers will develop practical tools to help them understand themselves more fully,” said Singletary.

The event is free and open to the public. The Baylor Bookstore will be on hand to sell copies of “Leadership by the Numbers” for signing. A reception with light refreshments will take place during the book signing portion of the event.
